New Est challenge theme - Spring colour trends

Remember the European Street Team challenges? For those, who don't know it, for the last couple of years, every week (or every second week sometimes),the European Etsy Team has a challenge for the members to create something new, inspired by a special theme. One of my new year's resolutions was to participate every week in the challenge, but till now I only made it a few times! Last week I participated to the "Hills and Lakes" challenge hosted by Juanitatortilla with my mixed material necklace and won the challenge!!!! Thanks Juanita :))

So, this week I will be the hostess!
For this week let's all be inspired by the uplifting, energetic and exciting colours of the flowers, which are trendy this spring/summer:
Iris, Viola, Daffodil, Poppy! Beautiful and cheerful colours named by the flowers!

Get inspired by some gorgeous florals shown by the designers at Spring/Summer fashion shows:

Happy creating! The challenge will last till Monday the 25th! Click here to see all the gorgeous entries!

My secret Bunny arrived

Do you remember the Secret Santa? For those who don’t know, our Est group made a Christmas presents swap and it was great fun for all! We decided to do the same for Easter, with the same way!Everyone who has opted has completed a questionnaire, and Artmind selected all of them, matched them in pairs and sent to each one of us the completed questionnaire of another person to give us feedback to make something according to the taste of our present recipient. My match for the Easter bunny was my sweet friend Ntina from Sweden, aka MistyAurora! Ntina is Greek and makes wonderful jewelry! I knit for her an iPod/mobile case and a small lip gloss case in her favorite color, aqua blue. Take a look at her blog here! Yesterday my secret bunny arrived with the post from Leina, aka XbyLeinaNeima, from Estonia! The present was so beautifully packed, with a cute pink rice-paper and ribbon; I didn’t want to rib it. Inside there was not one present, but actually 5!!! Two beautiful delicious handmade soaps, each of them hiding a second gift inside. One with a cat from stained glass inside, and the other with a small heart-pendant!!! And a beautiful choker, all of them in my favorite colors!!! My joy was so big, I made pictures of them immediately, though the light was not good. Look how gorgeous they are!! Leina makes fantastic jewelry and accessories. Take a look at her shop and blog! A big thank you Leina for the wonderful presents and a big thank you to Mitsy too, who organized the swap again!

How time flies!

How quickly ten days passed since my last post! It is true that I didn’t do much, because lately I feel with no energy, my batteries are empty! I started making a purse for the “Africa” challenge, but it is still outside hanging to dry!!! The challenge of course is finished and the winner was Amanda from ExoticFlavor, who chose the next theme, “Aqua”! I have started making a necklace and a scarf, I hope this time I will have them ready on time!

But I managed to finish my “Secret Santa” present and the samples for the “Get Eurofied” promo!
What are these?
For those who don’t know, our Est group is going to swap Christmas presents this year! Everyone who has opted has completed a questionnaire, and Artmind selected all of them, matched them in pairs and sent to each one of us the completed questionnaire of another person to give us feedback to make something according to the taste of our present recipient. Well, I finished mine and shipped it already! At the end, every one of us will make a photo with the present she got and it will be posted on our team’s blog.

"Get Eurofied" is a promotion that a fellow member of our team suggested and organized. It is boxes with samples of our work that are very popular abroad. I made some pins, brooches, rings and egg-cups!
I have also finished some knits, but I couldn’t make any decent photos yet to show!

Have I told you? My Vito is in love with Mollie and is crying all day long to go out to meet her! I open the kitchen door and let her in to come and say hi, so that he stops crying!

a wonderful gift!

In September the BBEST team organized a gift swap with theme the butterflies, to honor Pat, who was stepping down from her admin duties. We made a small gift and uploaded to the group pool in flickr. When the swap ended, everyone of us sent her creation to the person left to her photo on the pool. Today I receiver mine with the post!!! A very beautiful bookmark made by Sharon! The flat part is made with fabulous viscose felt from Myfanwy, and each side has totally different colors. Pewter butterflies are braided into a funky tassel made from some crazy yarn. It arrived beautifully packaged and it had also a very cute little card, made by ClaudiasCreations.etsy.com and is made from handmade paper that has flower seeds in and can be planted! Isn't it great to start your week so beautifully? Thanks Sharon!!!

Two weeks of challenges from our European Street Team have gone by. Last week we had to make something "that men appreciate" and I knit a chunky green cowl that can be worn either by man or woman:

Winner of the challenge was matchstikgirl and she cose the next theme, which is "things that go bump in the night, loosely translated as what scares you the most". I made a necklace with beads from felt and silk fabric scraps with black-white designs. One of the designs of the fabrics is skulls:
